B&M's Lord Street store closes on 26 November and reopens on 3 December in the former New Look on Chapel Street. Dates, address and where to shop in between.

B&M is moving its Southport town centre store from Lord Street to Chapel Street. The Lord Street shop closes on Thursday 26 November and the new one opens on Thursday 3 December, according to B&M’s own store page for the new branch.

The new store is at Unit 2, 41-49 Chapel Street, PR8 1AL. B&M describes the unit as the former New Look. The store it replaces is at 91 Lord Street, PR8 1RH.

What B&M says

The notice on B&M’s site reads: “Your B&M Southport store is moving from its current location at 91 Lord Street, to its new home at Unit 2, 41-49 Chapel Street (former New Look).” It says the move is to “bring you a bigger and better B&M store” and apologises “for any inconvenience caused”.

B&M numbers its shops, and the Lord Street branch is listed on its site as store 2. The Chapel Street store will be number 947. B&M has not said on its site what happens to the Lord Street unit or whether the staff move across with the store.

The new store is listed with alcohol, frozen food and tobacco among its in-store services. It is one of 13 branches on B&M’s new stores page on 30 October, and the only one in Merseyside.

The week with no town centre B&M

There is a seven-day gap between the two dates. From the close of trading on 26 November until 3 December, the nearest B&M is the Central 12 Retail Park store on Derby Road, which has a garden centre and which B&M’s store finder puts at 0 miles from the new site.
