Christmas Day lunch in Southport from £59.95 at Kalash Divine to £120 at the Waterfront: 11 pubs, hotels and restaurants with 2026 prices and child rates.

For Christmas Day in Southport, most people look first at the Bold Arms in Churchtown (£62.95), the Crown in Birkdale (£68.95) and the two Joseph Holt pubs, the Imperial and the Richmond (£69.95), or the Waterfront Southport Hotel on the Promenade for lunch with entertainment (£120). Every entry was checked against the venue’s own site on 1 November 2026.

We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the 2026 Christmas Day price from the venue’s own Christmas page or menu, the child price and deposit where published, and the Food Standards Agency hygiene rating. Christmas Day 2026 falls on a Friday. Two well-known Southport Christmas Day lunches had already sold out by 1 November, so book soon.

Southport town centre and the Promenade

1. The Imperial, Albert Road

The Imperial is the Joseph Holt pub on Albert Road, at the north end of Lord Street towards Hesketh Park. The brewery’s Christmas Day menu for 2026, linked from the pub’s own page, is £69.95 for adults and £34.95 for children aged 12 and under.

Starters include a duck liver and port pâté and a king prawn, smoked salmon and avocado bruschetta; mains are roast turkey, beef sirloin, sea bass with king prawns or a vegan mushroom and lentil Wellington, with tea or coffee to finish. Joseph Holt asks for a £10 deposit per person when you book, and says deposits are non-refundable.

2. Waterfront Southport Hotel, Promenade

The Waterfront is the modern hotel on the Promenade beside the Floral Hall and Marine Lake. Its 2026 Christmas brochure offers Christmas Day lunch at £120 for adults and £45 for children, served at 2pm, with live entertainment from 3pm and “an additional little gift” from Santa for each child.

The menu opens with a canapé, then starters such as a ham hock terrine or a goat’s cheese panna cotta, and mains of turkey breast with a pig in blanket, striploin of beef or a nut roast. The hotel takes a £25 a person non-refundable deposit and wants full payment and pre-orders a month before the date.

The hotel’s own website states that the business is managed by administrators, Paul Davies and Sandra Mundy, so read the booking terms before you pay.

3. Kalash Divine Indian, Lord Street

Kalash Divine is the Indian restaurant at 1 to 5 Lord Street. For anyone who would rather not have turkey, Stand Up For Southport reported on 12 October 2026 that it would serve a four-course Christmas Day menu at £59.95 a person: a soup, three starters, a main with rice and bread, and a dessert, with bookings taken between 12.30pm and 4.30pm.

The restaurant’s own website did not list the Christmas Day menu on 1 November, so confirm the price when you book. No child price has been published.

4. The Richmond, Scarisbrick New Road

The Richmond is the Joseph Holt food pub on Scarisbrick New Road. It serves the same 2026 Christmas Day menu as the Imperial: £69.95 for adults and £34.95 for children aged 12 and under, with the same £10 non-refundable deposit.

The children’s menu is leek and potato soup, garlic bread or pigs in blankets to start, then roast turkey, beef or a vegan chestnut roast, and Christmas pudding, a brownie torte or ice cream. The pub’s page lists food until 9pm on ordinary days and a Thursday quiz night.

Churchtown

5. Bold Arms, Botanic Road

The Bold Arms is the white-painted pub in Churchtown village, a few minutes’ walk from the Botanic Gardens, and a listed building (Historic England list entry 1379530). It is a Greene King pub.

Its Christmas Day page offers three courses for £62.95, the lowest pub price in Southport this year, and its kids’ Christmas Day menu is £27.95 for under-12s. Greene King takes a £10 deposit for every adult and child, and confirms the booking by email once it is paid.

The page promises “all the special festive extras”, from sprouts to pigs in blankets.

6. The Crown, Liverpool Road, Birkdale

The Crown is the Ember Inns pub on Liverpool Road in Birkdale. Its Christmas page offers three courses on Christmas Day for £68.95 for adults and £34.50 for children.

Ember takes a £10 deposit for every guest on Christmas Day and asks for full payment and pre-orders by 1 December; its deposits are non-refundable. The same page lists a Boxing Day menu at £32.50 (children £11.99) and a festive set menu from £22.99 for two courses through December.

7. Miller & Carter Ainsdale, Liverpool Road

Miller & Carter is the steakhouse chain, and its Ainsdale restaurant is on Liverpool Road. Its 2026 Christmas Day menu costs £104.95 a person; the menu names a smoked salmon and prawn cocktail to start, then a 10oz surf and turf filet mignon, pan-fried duck or a turkey paupiette, and a Christmas pudding or a yule log.

Young guests aged 12 and under have their own menu from £47.95. Miller & Carter takes a £10 a person deposit on all Christmas Day tables and wants full payment and pre-orders by 1 December.

10. Toby Carvery Formby, Church Road

Toby Carvery’s Formby restaurant is on Church Road. Its Christmas Day page puts the price at £74.99, with festive starters, then the carvery with hand-carved meats, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings, and desserts.

The Cross House is the Greene King pub on Cross Green in the middle of Formby. Its Christmas Day menu is £77.95 for three courses, the dearest of the Greene King pubs in this guide, and the kids’ Christmas Day menu is £29.95 for under-12s.
