Southport’s bonfire night fireworks are on Friday 6 November 2026 at Southport Rugby Club on Waterloo Road, Hillside. Gates open at 6pm and the display starts at about 8pm. Tickets went on sale through the club’s box office and were still available on 30 September (Southport RFC box office).

Is there a council fireworks display on 5 November?
No. Sefton Council’s fireworks event is the British Musical Fireworks Championship in Victoria Park in September, which this year drew more than 20,000 people on 26 and 27 September (Sefton Council). Our fireworks championship page has the result.
The rugby club’s night is the town’s regular early-November display. Last year it ran on Friday 31 October. Bonfire night itself, 5 November, falls on a Thursday this year, so the club has gone for the Friday after.

It is cheaper than last year. The club’s 2025 prices were £10 for an adult, £9 for ages 13 to 16, £7 for ages 3 to 12 and £30 for a family ticket (Southport RFC, 28 September 2025). For 2026 a 16-year-old pays the adult price, but every other ticket is £1 to £3 cheaper.
The box office lists under 3s as free and children from age 4. It does not say which ticket a three-year-old needs; ask the club at info@southportrfc.com before you book.
What is on the night
The night is hosted by Mighty Radio, with the DJ Trevor Ford broadcasting live. Before the display there is a festival village with bouncy castles, a giant slide, kids’ rides, hook-a-duck and face painting. Food and drink come from a barbecue, an outside bar, a sweet stall and the clubhouse kitchen, all on sale on site.
The club’s rules, from the booking page:
- No fireworks or sparklers. Anyone carrying them will not be let in.
- No alcohol brought in. The bar is open.
- No dogs.
- No cash machine. Bring cash if you want to pay that way.
- Bring your own chairs or blankets; the club has a limited number to hire.
- Rain does not stop it. The fireworks are waterproofed, the club says.
- There are disabled toilets on site.
Getting there and parking
There is no car parking at the club for this event, because the ground has one access road. The club asks anyone parking on nearby streets to keep well clear of driveways, including the ones marked with an H, not to park opposite a driveway where that makes it hard to get in or out, and not to park on grass verges (Southport RFC box office).
By train, Hillside station on the Merseyrail Northern Line is five minutes’ walk from the ground. Friday 6 November is the last day of Merseyrail’s Northern Line tunnel works, but on weekdays trains still run between Southport and Liverpool Central, calling at Hillside. The works affect Hunts Cross to Moorfields, with replacement buses there, and normal services return on Saturday 7 November (Merseyrail).
By bus, the club says the 49 stops at the ground.

What it means for you
If you want to go, buy online. The club keeps only a few tickets for the gate, and the family ticket saves £2 on two adults and two children bought separately.
If you were planning to drive, don’t. With no car park and residents’ driveways all round the ground, the train to Hillside is the easiest way in.
If you want a display on 5 November itself, there is no public one in Southport on the Thursday. This is the town’s display for the week.
